Treatment for fever (137): Brahma-randhra rasa
Equal quantities of mercury, sulphur, mica, orpiment, cinnabar, maricha borax, and rock salt, and aconite equal in quantity to all the above-mentioned combined, are to be rubbed together with the bile of a she-buffalo, equal to one fourth the weight of the foregoing materials combined. A little of this medicine is to be applied at the crown of the patient's head lacerated by means of a razor, at a time when he has lost his consciousness attacked by a sannipatika fever. His body is then to be smeared with sandal paste, and plenty of cold water is to be poured over his head. Ha is then to be allowed such cooling diet as boiled rice mixed with curd, sugar cane soup of mudga grams etc.
