Medh膩tithi鈥檚 commentary (尘补苍耻产丑腻峁补):
For fear of hell, the 鈥�illiterate鈥欌赌攊驳苍辞谤补苍迟鈥斺赌�person鈥� should fight shy of accepting a gift;鈥欌赌�i.e., for fear of being destroyed, he should not accept any gifts to say nothing of gold and other specified things.
By accepting even 鈥�a small gift,鈥� in the shape of things of little value as lead and the like, the illiterate man sinks in the same manner as the cow sinks in a morass.鈥�(191).
