तेषा� खल्वेषां भूताना� त्रीण्ये� बीजानि भवन्त्याण्डज� जीवजमुद्भिज्जमित� � �.�.� �

teṣāṃ khalveṣāṃ bhūtānā� trīṇyeva bījāni bhavantyāṇḍaja� īᲹudbhijjamiti || 6.3.1 ||

1. Living beings have their origin in three ways: from eggs, from parents, and from plants.
