उदान� तृप्यत� त्वक्तृप्यति त्वच� तृप्यन्त्यां वायुस्तृप्यत� वायौ तृप्यत्याकाशस्तृप्यत्याकाश� तृप्यत� यत्किं� वायुश्चाकाशश्चाधितिष्ठतस्तत्तृप्यत� तस्यान� तृप्ति� तृप्यत� प्रजया पशुभिरन्नाद्ये� तेजस� ब्रह्मवर्चसे� � �.२३.� �
� इत� त्रयोविंशः खण्ड� �udāne ṛpⲹپ tvakṛpⲹپ tvaci tṛpyantyā� vāyusṛpⲹپ vāyau tṛpyatyākāśastṛpyatyākāśe ṛpⲹپ yatkiṃca vāyuścākāśaścādhitiṣṭhatastatṛpⲹپ tasyānu tṛpti� ṛpⲹپ Ჹ paśubhirԲԲ ٱᲹ brahmavarcasena || 5.23.2 ||
|| iti trayoviṃśa� khaṇḍa� ||2. When ܻԲ is pleased, the organ of touch is pleased; the organ of touch being pleased, air is pleased; when air is pleased, space is pleased; when space is pleased, whatever is under the control of air and space is pleased. Then when that is pleased, the eater derives pleasure from his children, from his animals, from an abundance of food, from physical strength, and from his good life and scholarship.
Word-for-word explanation:
Udāne ṛpⲹپ, when ܻԲ is pleased; tvak ṛpⲹپ, the organ of touch [i.e., the skin] is pleased; tvaci ṛpⲹԳٲ峾, the organ of touch being pleased; � ṛpⲹپ, air is pleased; vāyau ṛpⲹپ, when air is pleased; ākāśa� ṛpⲹپ, space is pleased; ākāśe ṛpⲹپ, when space is pleased; yat kiñca, whatever; � ca ākāśa� ca adhitiṣṭhata�, is under the control of air and space; tat ṛpⲹپ, that is pleased; tasya anu tṛptim, with its being pleased; ṛpⲹپ, he [the eater] is pleased; Ჹ, by children; 貹śܲ�, by animals; ԲԲ, by food; ٱᲹ, by vigour; brahmavarcasena iti, by the radiance of Brahman derived from good character and scholarship. Iti trayoviṃśa� khaṇḍa�, here ends the twenty-third section.
