The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.4.214, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. � मानयन्ति तद�-भक्तान� सर्व-भूतावमानिन� �
पूजा-गर्वेण वेदाज्ञा� अतिक्रमन्त� � प्रभोः � २१� �

na ԲⲹԳپ ٲ-󲹰 sarva-bhūtāvamānina� |
ū-ṇa vedājñā� atikramanti ca � || 214 ||

na–ndz; ԲⲹԳپ–r𳦳; ٲ-󲹰–His devotees; ūٲ–of all living beings; ԾԲ�–d𳦳; ū–of worship; ṇa–out of pride; veda–of the Vedas; ñ峾–the orders; پ峾Գپ–they neglect; ca–aԻ; –of the Lord.

Such persons not only disrespect devotees, but they disrespect all ī in general. Proud of their worship, they do not recognize the authority of the Lord’s Vedic injunctions.

Śī says, “It is such people who disrespect the devotees of Hari and censure all living entities as well. Being maddened in the pride of their worship, they transgress the Lord’s orders in the Vedas and neglect their own occupational duties.�
