Seeing 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 in one鈥檚 meditation is like seeing Him directly. When seen in meditation, He bestows special mercy by giving boons and blessings. The lotus-born 叠谤补丑尘腻 is evidence of this.

Commentary: Dig-dar艣in墨-峁�墨k膩 with Bh膩v膩nuv膩da

艢谤墨 Gopa-办耻尘腻谤补 might say, 鈥淭he bliss of seeing the Lord in meditation (诲丑测腻苍补) may be greater than the bliss of direct 诲补谤艣补苍补, but it is a well-known fact that the incomparable delight of receiving a blessing from 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 or conversing with Him can only be had when you see Him personally.鈥�

笔颈辫辫补濒腻测补苍补 replies, 鈥淲hen 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 reveals Himself to His meditating devotee, by His special mercy, He can bestow desired boons and give His devotee pleasures like conversing with Him and touching

Him. All this is possible due to 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍鈥檚 special potencies.鈥�

鈥淚s there anyone who has ever received this mercy?鈥� 鈥淭he lotus-born 叠谤补丑尘腻 is evidence of this.鈥�

This verse is famous:

鈥溑毎��� 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 was pleased with 叠谤补丑尘腻鈥檚 devout austerities. In 叠谤补丑尘腻鈥檚 state of 蝉补尘腻诲丑颈, 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 showed him His supremely attractive abode, above which no superior realm exists.鈥� (2.9.9)

Then, 叠谤补丑尘腻j墨 saw:

鈥溑毎��� 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍, the Lord of all the devotees, was present there, served by His eternal associates.鈥� (2.9.15)

Next, it is explained:

鈥淪eeing that form of the Lord, 叠谤补丑尘腻 became overwhelmed with joy. His hairs standing on end and tears of love flowing from his eyes, he fell down at the Lord鈥檚 lotus feet. 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 caught his hand and smiling with pleasure, said, 鈥極 叠谤补丑尘腻, without following the path of the 辫补谤补尘补丑补峁僺补蝉 (perfected souls), no one can have 诲补谤艣补苍补 of this planet. You are the recipient of My exclusive mercy and are qualified to receive My orders. You have pleased Me with your austerities to procreate living beings, so ask for whatever you wish.鈥欌�� (2.9.18鈥�19)

Hearing this, 叠谤补丑尘腻j墨 asked for a boon, and thus received the instruction contained in 肠补迟奴岣�-艣濒辞办墨 产丑腻驳补惫补迟补, the four seed verses of 艢谤墨mad-叠丑腻驳补惫补迟补尘.

Then, it is stated:

鈥淎fter 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 instructed 叠谤补丑尘腻 in this manner, and as 叠谤补丑尘腻 watched, the Lord disappeared.鈥� (2.9.38)

This narration demonstrates the Lord鈥檚 supreme mercy by showing how 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 shows Himself to a devotee who is in 蝉补尘腻诲丑颈 and further benedicts him by conversing with him and touching him.

鈥淲hen a fraction of a moment had elapsed for the Supreme Lord, and a hundred of 叠谤补丑尘腻鈥檚 years had elapsed, 叠谤补丑尘腻 concluded his meditation. True knowledge about 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 then manifested in his heart. Previously, with the greatest endeavor he had searched everywhere for 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 but to no avail. Now, in the trance of 蝉补尘腻诲丑颈, 叠谤补丑尘腻j墨 saw that the Supreme Person was seated in his heart. The Lord, who had a lustrous dark complexion, was resting in the waters of the cosmic inundation on a bed of the lotus-like white coils of the snake Ananta-deva鈥檚 vast body.鈥� (3.8.22鈥�23)

It is further stated:

鈥湹�谤补丑尘�� absorbed his mind in the inconceivable Lord, who is most mysterious, and in order to acquire the strength to manifest the creation, he began to praise Him.鈥� (3.8.33)

After 叠谤补丑尘腻 offers his praises, 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 says:

鈥淥 Veda-garbha, O depth of Vedic wisdom, do not lament. The creation you are praying for has already been completed by Me.鈥� (3.9.29)

叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 also says:

Your praise has pleased Me. May everything be auspicious for you.鈥� (3.9.39)
