It is true that sometimes the Lord, out by special affection for His devotees, appears to their external eyes. However, He is really made visible by the eyes of knowledge. Only by the compassion of 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 does the living being feel that he has received 诲补谤艣补苍补 with his eyes.

艢谤墨 Gopa-办耻尘腻谤补 might say, 鈥淎lthough the function of the mind is superior, it is a well known fact that devotees of the Lord such as 艢谤墨 Dhruva and 笔谤补丑濒腻诲补 directly saw 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 with their eyes. Why are these incidents celebrated?鈥�
To resolve this doubt, 笔颈辫辫补濒腻测补苍补 says, 鈥淚t is true that because of 产丑补办迟补-惫腻迟蝉补濒测补, or the Lord鈥檚 love and affection for those devoted to Him, He directly reveals Himself to the eyes of some fortunate devotees such as 艢谤墨 Dhruva and 笔谤补丑濒腻诲补, in order to make their vision successful. However, that 诲补谤艣补苍补 occurs through the vision of knowledge, not with the eyes. It is impossible for the senses, which are limited by their very nature (dharma), to ever grasp the unlimited Truth.鈥�
The doubt might be pressed, 鈥淭hen why are devotees like Dhruva and 笔谤补丑濒腻诲补 famous for directly seeing the Lord with their eyes? Why are there such narrations about the affectionate relationship (产丑补办迟补惫腻迟蝉补濒测补) of 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 and His devotees?鈥�
笔颈辫辫补濒腻测补苍补 replies, 鈥淭he statement, 鈥業 had direct 诲补谤艣补苍补 of 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 with my eyes,鈥� reveals the living being鈥檚 false self-conception (补产丑颈尘腻苍补) in regard to his eyes. However, this misconception arises due to the Lord鈥檚 love for His devotees. On the strength of the affection of the Lord, a devotee entertains the idea that, 鈥榃ith these very eyes, I saw 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍.鈥� Thus, although the eyes cannot perceive an object that is beyond their functional range, it is improper to think that the eyes are incapable of receiving 诲补谤艣补苍补 of 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍.鈥�
