The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.1.100, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. तेनेदं विफल� जन्म मन्वान� कामय� मृतिम् �
पर� जीवामि कृपय� शिवयोर� माधवस्� � � १०� �teneda� viphala� janma ԱԲ� 峾 ṛt |
para� ī峾 ṛp śivayor ⲹ ca || 100 ||tena–by this; idam–t; viphalamҡ; janma–bٳ; ԱԲ�–cDzԲԲ; 峾–I desire; ṛt–dٳ; param–sپ; ī峾–I live; ṛp–by the mercy; ś�–of Śiva and Parvatī; ⲹ–of Śī ; ca–aԻ.
“For this reason, I consider my birth useless and would like to die. The only reason I am still alive is the mercy of Śī վśٳ and Śī .

Śī Gopa-ܳ might ask, “Feeling so indifferent and miserable because of not having determined your ultimate goal and a way to achieve it (ⲹ-Բ), how are you able to survive?�
In reply, the ṇa speaks these words beginning with param. He says, “I am able to maintain my life only by the mercy of Śī Viśveśvara and Śī 峾-ī. Their instructions and words of encouragement are keeping me alive.�
