Sarpagandha (सर्पगन्ध�) in Nepali refers to the plant Cinnamomum glaucescens or “Indian snakeroot� from the Apocynaceae or “dogbane family�. It is is mentioned as one of the “Protected plants of Nepal�. The photo also depicts a Flower/Leaf (फू�, phul/phūl/phūla/phula, पा�, pat/pāt/pāta/pata) and a Root (जर�, jara/jarā).
The word Sarpagandha can also be transliterated as Sarpagandhā.
