: Shodhganga: A study of Ny膩ya-vai艣e峁ka categories痴颈产丑腻驳补箩补 (啶掂た啶ぞ啶椸) refers to 鈥淸sound] born of disjunction鈥� one represents one of the three of 艢abda (sound) according to Anna峁僢ha峁弓a and the Ny膩yabodhin墨.鈥擳his division is done on the basis of how sound is produced. Hence, sound (艣补产诲补) can be: 蝉补峁儁辞驳补箩补 (born of conjunction), 惫颈产丑腻驳补箩补 (born of disjunction), and 艣补产诲补ja (born of sound). When there is a contact of the stick with the drum, the first kind of sound (蝉补峁儁辞驳补箩补) is produced. When a bamboo is split, a sound is produced. This is 惫颈产丑腻驳补箩补 sound. The last variety is 艣补产诲补ja which is found in all subsequent sounds.
Nyaya (啶ㄠ啶ぞ啶�, nyaya) refers to a school of Hindu philosophy (astika), drawing its subject-matter from the Upanishads. The Nyaya philosophy is known for its theories on logic, methodology and epistemology, however, it is closely related with Vaisheshika in terms of metaphysics.
