Valabhapaṭṭanam is name of an ancient city established by Valabha II, according to the historical poem Mūṣikavaṃśa by Atula dealing with the royal lineage of North Kerala in roughly 1000 verses.—Many places of North Kerala can be identified from the descriptions of Atula. [...] Valabhapaṭṭanam, the city constructed by Valabha II is identified with modem Valarpaṭṭanam. Another town said to have been established by him near the Killā river is Mārāhi, identified with modern Māṭāyi.
