: archive.org: Catalogue of Pancaratra Agama Texts徱īṣaū貹ٲ岹ٳṇaԲ (तारादिबीजाक्षरस्वरूपतदर्थवर्णन) (lit. “concerning the significance, form and the basic letters of the �� (and other) mantras�) is the name of the fifty-first chapter of the ܻԲⲹṃh, a Pāñcarātra work in 60 chapters dealing with topics such as Viṣṇu’s discus-power, the processes of creation and esoteric practices related to Sudarśana (such as mantras and yantras).—Description of the chapter [徱īṣaū貹ٲ岹ٳṇaԲ]: Nārada asks to know about the mantra and some others (1-6). Ahirbudhnya replies that to one who understands the mantras, they become so much the more efficacious. He then begins his discussion by pointing out that mantras have three aspects—their ٳū, ūṣm, and para forms (1-10). He turns then to the ṇa syllable, saying that each of the letters comprising “AUM� is presided over by Saṃkarṣaṇa, Pradyumna and Aniruddha respectively and that these give to it its special potency (11-53). Continuing with the mantra, he then discusses the ٳū, ūṣm and para aspects of it (51-69). The concluding lines give a resumé of what he has just covered (70-81a).
