Source: Wisdom Library: KathÄsaritsÄgara³§±¹²¹°ùṇa³¾Å«±ô²¹ (सà¥à¤µà¤°à¥à¤£à¤®à¥‚à¤�) is the name of a mountain in the kingdom of Laá¹…kÄ, according to the KathÄsaritsÄgara, chapter 12. On this mountain lived a bird from the Garuá¸a race, which was gifted to Lohajaá¹…gha by king Vibhīṣaṇa.
The KathÄsaritsÄgara (‘ocean of streams of storyâ€�), mentioning ³§±¹²¹°ùṇa³¾Å«±ô²¹, is a famous Sanskrit epic story revolving around prince NaravÄhanadatta and his quest to become the emperor of the ±¹¾±»å²âÄå»å³ó²¹°ù²¹²õ (celestial beings). The work is said to have been an adaptation of GuṇÄá¸hya’s Bá¹›hatkathÄ consisting of 100,000 verses, which in turn is part of a larger work containing 700,000 verses.
