Source: Wisdom Library: Kath膩sarits膩garaSuroha (啶膏啶班啶�) is the name of an ancient king of C墨na (China), whose daughter, Vidyunm膩l膩, was captivated by love at the sight of S奴ryaprabha, according to the Kath膩sarits膩gara, chapter 44.
In chapter 48, Suroha fought on S奴ryaprabha鈥檚 side, but was slain by Si峁僪abala, who fought on 艢ruta艣arman鈥檚 side, . Accordingly: 鈥�... then a fight took place between those Vidy膩dhara princes on the one side and Prabh膩sa and his comrades on the other, in which there was a great slaughter of soldiers. And in the single combats between the two hosts many warriors were slain on both sides, men, Asuras and Vidy膩dharas... Pravahana was killed by the two warriors Suroha and Viroha, and those two were slain by Si峁僪abala, the dweller in the cemetery.鈥�.
The story of Viroha was narrated by the Vidy膩dhara king Vajraprabha to prince Narav膩hanadatta in order to relate how 鈥淪奴ryaprabha, being a man, obtain of old time the sovereignty over the Vidy膩dharas鈥�.
The Kath膩sarits膩gara (鈥榦cean of streams of story鈥�), mentioning Suroha, is a famous Sanskrit epic story revolving around prince Narav膩hanadatta and his quest to become the emperor of the 惫颈诲测腻诲丑补谤补蝉 (celestial beings). The work is said to have been an adaptation of Gu峁嚹佱笉hya鈥檚 B峁沨atkath膩 consisting of 100,000 verses, which in turn is part of a larger work containing 700,000 verses.
