Pancaratra (worship of Nārāyaṇa)
: archive.org: Catalogue of Pancaratra Agama Textsūṣmū𱹲Գٲ岵 (सूक्ष्मव्यूहदेवतान्तर्यागविध) (lit. “rules for the contemplation of the ū in their manifest forms) is the name of chapter 5 of the ٳٱٲṃh: one of the most ancient of Pāñcarātra Āgamas consisting of roughly 3500 verses which stresses the theological standpoint of the oneness of God despite his various ū (modes of existence), vibhavas (manifestations) and (incarnations).
Description of the chapter [ūṣmū𱹲Գٲ岵]: Further, the devotee is to contemplate the four aspects of God—in the ūṣmū manifestations in which they adopt their destructive forms [apyayayoga]—by a method of Բ-meditation focused on the cakra-motif. Each of these four aspects—Vāsudeva (9-12a), Saṃkarṣaṇa (126-14а), Pradyumna (145-16) and Aniruddha (17-18)—have their distinctive as well as their common traits (19-21). A method of seeing them in the mind’s eye with variant colors is given, along with appropriate mantras for these (composed in a manner similar to the methods described in the preceding two chapters) (22-66). Another special set of four mantras is similarly given (69-78a). These four ū though of one origin and essence have four different activities which characterize them: activating, delivering, controlling and protecting (82-87). The variant coloring of the four ū in the different yuga-ages is also explained (88-95) for purposes of Բ-meditation.
Then a brief essay ensues in which God’s unity in diversity is treated, this being one of the more sophisticated discussions of the literature of the Pāñcaratrāgama due to its eclectic spirit of bringing together theological, philosophical, psychological and liturgical concerns of the Pāñcarātra system (96-107a). The chapter closes by pointing out that the foregoing has all applied to contemplative, or silent, worship [Գٲ岵], and is to be undertaken with faith [ś] and devotion [bhakti] (1076-110).

Pancaratra (पाञ्चरात्र, pāñcarātra) represents a tradition of Hinduism where Narayana is revered and worshipped. Closeley related to Vaishnavism, the Pancaratra literature includes various Agamas and tantras incorporating many Vaishnava philosophies.
