Vaishnavism (Vaishava dharma)
: Prabhupada Books: Sri Caitanya Caritamrta艢颈测腻濒墨 (啶多た啶ぞ啶侧).鈥擜ccording to 艢r墨 Caitanya Carit膩m峁泃a, Madya-lila 9.74, 鈥淎fter visiting the temple of 艢颈测腻濒墨-bhairav墨 [another form of the goddess Durg膩], 艢r墨 Caitanya Mah膩prabhu, the son of mother 艢ac墨, went to the bank of the river K膩ver墨鈥�.
艢颈测腻濒墨-bhairav墨 is located in the Tanjore膩帽 district, about forty-eight miles northeast of Tanjore膩帽 City. There is a very much celebrated temple of Lord 艢iva there and also a very large lake. It is said that once a small boy who was a devotee of Lord 艢iva came to that temple and the goddess Durg膩, known as Bhairav墨, gave him her breast to suck. After visiting this temple, 艢r墨 Caitanya Mah膩prabhu went to the bank of the river K膩ver墨 via the district of Tiruchchir膩palli. The K膩ver墨 is mentioned in 艢r墨mad-Bh膩gavatam (11.5.40) as a very pious river.
Vaishnava (啶掂啶粪啶｀さ, vai峁ａ箛ava) or vaishnavism (vai峁ａ箛avism) represents a tradition of Hinduism worshipping Vishnu as the supreme Lord. Similar to the Shaktism and Shaivism traditions, Vaishnavism also developed as an individual movement, famous for its exposition of the dashavatara (鈥榯en avatars of Vishnu鈥�).

It has a famous Shiva temple with a large tank, a shrine dedicated to the Tamil saint Tiru-jnan Sambandhar, and some other separate shrines, and evidently an image of Shiva's consort who is said to have given suck to this saint when he visited this temple as a child. : What is India: Inscriptions of the 艢il膩h膩rasSiyali (啶膏た啶げ啶�) is the name of a hamlet, mentioned as lying on the western boundary of the village Ekas膩la, according to the 鈥溼宫h膩峁嚹� plates of Mummu峁噄r膩ja鈥�. The stream is evidently the same as the river Pavah膩 mentioned in the grant. Ekas膩la is to be identified with the village of the same name, now situated about 1陆 miles to the north of the Bhivapur墨 Road Railway station on the Central Railway.
These copper plates (mentioning Siyali) were discovered in 1956 while digging the ground between the Church and the District Office at 峁琱膩峁嚹�, the chief town of the 峁琱膩峁嚹� District in Mah膩r膩峁ａ弓ra. Its object is to record the grant, by the 艢il膩h膩ra Mummu峁噄r膩ja, of some villages and lands to learned Br膩hma峁嘺s on the occasion of the lunar eclipse on the fifteenth tithi of the bright fortnight of Ph膩lguna in the 艢aka year 970, the cyclic year being Sarvadh膩rin.
