: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarŚabdparavipratiṣedha (शब्द्परविप्रतिषे�).—Cl,. comparatively superior strength possessed by a word, which in the text of a particular sutra is later than another word, which is put in earlier in the Sutra. This शब्दपरविप्रतिषेध� (ś岹貹پṣe) is contrasted with the standard शास्त्रपरविप्रतिषे� (śٰ貹پṣe) which is laid down by Panini in his rule विप्रतिषेध� पर� कार्यम� (vipratiṣedhe para� kāryam) and which lays down the superior strength of that rule which is put by Panini later on in his Astadhyayi; e. g. in the rule विभाषा गमहनविदविशाम� (vibhāṣ� gamahanavidaśām),it is not the word हन� (han) although occurring earlier, but the word विश् (ś) occurring later in the rule, which helps us to decide which विद् (vid) should be taken. cf.ज्ञानार्तस्य सत्यपि विदरूपत्वे अर्थस्� भेदकत्वे� रूपवदाश्रयणात्प्रतिषेधाभाव� � यद्यपि हन्तिन� साहचर्ये विदेरस्त� तथाप� शब्दपरविप्रतिषेधाद� विशिर्व्यवस्थाहेतुर्� हान्ति� � (jñānārtasya satyapi vidarūpatve arthasya bhedakatvena rūpavadāśrayaṇātpratiṣedhābhāva� | yadyapi hantinā sāhacarye viderasti tathāpi śabdaparavipratiṣedhād śirvyavasthāheturna hānti� |) Kaiyata on P.
