Vaishnavism (Vaishava dharma)
: Pure Bhakti: Arcana-dipika - 3rd Edition屹ٰⲹ (सावित्र्�) refers to “receiving the sacred thread from a Brāhmaṇa�, according to the Arcana-dīpikā (manual on deity worship).—Arcana-dīpikā considers the distinctions and special characteristics of the births known as śܰ (birth from semen), 屹ٰⲹ (receiving the sacred thread from a Brāhmaṇa) and 岹ṣy (initiation into the ṣṇ-Գٰ by a bona fide Guru).

Vaishnava (वैष्णव, vaiṣṇava) or vaishnavism (vaiṣṇavism) represents a tradition of Hinduism worshipping Vishnu as the supreme Lord. Similar to the Shaktism and Shaivism traditions, Vaishnavism also developed as an individual movement, famous for its exposition of the dashavatara (‘ten avatars of Vishnu�).
