satama (सत�).—f ŧ also m n ( P Tyranny, oppression. ) Vehemence, violence, boisterousness, outrageousness, turbulence, tumultuousness. Used freely of action viewed as excessive, extravagant, wild, and disorderly (of immoderate raining, tempestuous blowing, furious roaring, bawling, bellowing, quarreling, abusing &c.) 2 Inordinate or extraordinary abundance or prevalence (as of crops, thieves, locusts, rats, vermin): also exorbitant dearness or exceeding scarcity. The word (its proper sense unknown) is made to express Extravagance or excess (of action or of things), and to fall in with the applications of parākāṣṭhā, hadda, anartha, juluma, rŧla, layalūṭa &c.
