: Wikisource: Ashtavakra Gitaūⲹ (रूप्यवत्) refers to “resembling silver (and is used to describe the imagined worldś-첹貹), according to the Aṣṭāvakragītā (5th century BC), an ancient text on spirituality dealing with Advaita-Vedānta topics.—Accordingly, [as Aṣṭavakra says to Janaka]: “[...] I am like the mother of pearl, and the imagined world is like the silver (ūⲹ) [aha sa śuktisaṃkāśo rūpyavadviśvakalpanā]. To know this is knowledge, and then there is neither renunciation, acceptance or cessation of it. Alternatively, I am in all beings, and all beings are in me. To know this is knowledge, and then there is neither renunciation, acceptance or cessation of it.

Vedanta (वेदान्, vedānta) refers to a school of orthodox Hindu philosophy (astika), drawing its subject-matter from the Upanishads. There are a number of sub-schools of Vedanta, however all of them expound on the basic teaching of the ultimate reality (brahman) and liberation (moksha) of the individual soul (atman).
