ܻٳⲹ (रुद्रमाहात्म्य) refers to the “greatness of lord Śiva�, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.2.36. Accordingly, as Vīrabhadra said to Viṣṇu:—“[...] O Viṣṇu, how is it that you set at nought the affirmation of lord Śiva? Why were you haughty? [...] O Viṣṇu, of evil conduct, O the worst of Śiva’s haters, don’t you know the greatness and sanctity of lord Śiva [i.e., śīܻٳⲹ?�.
