Source: Wisdom Library: Jainism搁耻肠补办补诲惫墨辫补 (啶班啶氞啶︵啶掂啶�) is one of the continents (诲惫墨辫补) of the middle-world (madhyaloka), encircled by the ocean named Rucakasamudra (or simply Rucaka), according to Jain cosmology. The middle-world contains innumerable concentric 诲惫墨辫补s and, as opposed to the upper-world (adhaloka) and the lower-world (奴谤诲丑惫补濒辞办补), is the only world where humans can be born. 搁耻肠补办补诲惫墨辫补 is also known as plainly Rucaka.
搁耻肠补办补诲惫墨辫补 is recorded in ancient Jaina canonical texts dealing with cosmology and geography of the universe. Examples of such texts are the Sa峁僩raha峁嚹玶atna in the 艢vet膩mbara tradition or the Tiloyapannatti and the Trilokas膩ra in the Digambara tradition.

Accordingly:鈥斺�淭hen the ocean Nand墨艣vara surrounds Nand墨艣vara; after that Aru峁嘺诲惫墨辫补 and Aru峁噊da. Then come Aru峁嘺vara诲惫墨辫补 and the ocean by that name; next Aru峁嚹乥h膩sa and Aru峁嚹乥h膩sa Ocean. Then Ku峁囜笉ala诲惫墨辫补 and the ocean Ku峁囜笉aloda come next; then 搁耻肠补办补诲惫墨辫补 and Rucaka Ocean. The oceans and continents with these auspicious names are each twice as large as the preceding one. Of these the last is the ocean Svayambh奴rama峁嘺鈥�.
Note: 搁耻肠补办补诲惫墨辫补 is the name of a continent where there is a circular mountain-ranges Rucaka. On this in the four directions are 4 temples, and on both sides of each temple are 4 mountain peaks, making 8 peaks in each direction. Each peak is inhabited by a Dikkum膩r墨.鈥�(cf. 鈥楧ie Kosmographie der Inder鈥� pp. 257f).
