: Wisdom Library: Var膩ha-pur膩峁嘺搁辞丑颈辫腻谤腻 (啶班啶灌た啶ぞ啶班ぞ).鈥擭ame of a river originating from P膩riy膩tra, a holy mountain (kulaparvata) in Bh膩rata, according to the 痴补谤腻丑补辫耻谤腻峁嘺 chapter 85. There are settlements (janapada) where 膧ryas and Mlecchas dwell who drink water from these rivers.
Bh膩rata is a region south of Hem膩dri, once ruled over by Bharata (son of 峁氠梗abha), whose ancestral lineage can be traced back to Sv膩yambhuva Manu, who was created by Brahm膩, who was in turn created by N膩r膩ya峁嘺, the unknowable all-pervasive primordial being.
The Purana (啶啶班ぞ啶�, pur膩峁嘺s) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India鈥檚 vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
