The name of N膩nd墨ka岣峚 showsthat the locality stood on the bank (or in the valley) of the N膩nd墨 (modem M膩nyad). Nanded, however, stands on the Godavari, at adistance from the course of the M膩nyad. To justify the name, wehave probably to think that the N膩nd墨 originally joined the God膩var墨, near N膩nd墨ka岣峚.
