In the science of Āyurveda (ancient Indian healthcare), the meat of a fish is used and prepared in balanced diets. The DhanvantariԾṇṭ is a 10th-century medicinal thesaurus (Ծṇṭ) containing characteristics and synonyms of various herbal plants and minerals.

Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics.
