For example, at Makaralli there is a damaged Garuḍa pillar set up outside the village which states that Makaravallipura was a gift made to god Narasiṃha by Bāchaṃṇa Voḍeya, the Pradhāni of Gove. This inscription belongs to king Vīra Harihara (son of Vīra Bukkaṇṇa Voḍeya) of the Vijayanagara dynasty and is dated Śaka 1321.
