: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationLokaprabhu (啶侧啶曕お啷嵿ぐ啶) refers to the 鈥渓ord of the world鈥�, according to the 艢ivapur膩峁嘺 2.4.1 (鈥淭he dalliance of 艢iva鈥�).鈥擜ccordingly, after the Ga峁嘺s of 艢iva spoke to Lord Vi峁ａ箛u: 鈥淥n hearing their words, O excellent sage, Vi峁ａ箛u, the gods and I were perplexed and went to the doorway of 艢iva鈥檚 apartment. After going there along with me and the gods, Vi峁ａ箛u, the favourite deity of the gods, spoke in dejection but with joy in the heart. O excellent sage, standing there, along with me and the gods, he eulogised 艢iva, the lord of all the worlds (sarva-lokaprabhu) with great pleasure鈥�.
The Purana (啶啶班ぞ啶�, pur膩峁嘺s) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India鈥檚 vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
