: archive.org: Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society 1963Kum膩rapoku峁嘺 is the name of a pond that corresponds with Sil膩pokkhara峁嚹� and existed within Citadel (royal enclosing) of Polonnaruva (Polonnaruwa), Ceylon (Sri Lanka).鈥擮n ground adjoining the Royal Enclosure, Parakkamab膩hu laid out the Nandana Park in which were many varieties of fruit and flowering trees and the following structures:鈥�(i) A Bath House with shower-baths and a (?) fountain; (ii) a Pavilion with pillars of sandalwood, containing an octagonal 尘补峁囜笉补辫补 resembling an ear-ornament; (iii) a 尘补峁囜笉补辫补 which had 鈥渢he charm of a wreath of serpentine wanderings鈥�; (iv) the Sil膩pokkhara峁嚹�, now called Kum膩rapoku峁嘺; (v) the Nand膩pokkhara峁嚹�; (vi) a Pond holding perfumed water; (vii) the Vasanta cave; (viii) the Ma峁単alapokkhara峁嚹�. Later, the Nandana Park was extended, re-named Lakkhuyy膩na and made over to the Sa峁単ha: two ponds below hollow rocks were constructed for the monks to bathe in.
