: archive.org: Yoga Tradition of the Mysore Palace峾īṻԲ (कामपीठासन) is a type of posture (Բ), according to verse 83 of the ŚīٲٳٱԾ.—Accordingly, “Lie on the back. Put the turned up hands on the feet and raise the back side up. This is kāmapīṭhԲ, the seat of love�.
The 19th-century ŚīٲٳٱԾ is a sanskrit treatise describing 80 primary Բs, or ‘posture� and several additional ones (e.g., kāmapīṭha-Բ).
This name is not known. The form is not usually regarded as an Բ but it is a common stretching position known to many practitioners of yoga.

Yoga is originally considered a branch of Hindu philosophy (astika), but both ancient and modern Yoga combine the physical, mental and spiritual. Yoga teaches various physical techniques also known as Բs (postures), used for various purposes (eg., meditation, contemplation, relaxation).
