: WorldCat: Rāj nighaṇṭuJhīṅgā in the Bangali language is another name for śٲī, a medicinal plant identified with Luffa acutangula (angled luffa or ribbed sponge gourd) from the Cucurbitaceae or “gourd family� of flowering plants, according to verse 3.48-49 of the 13th-century Raj Nighantu or Rājanighaṇṭu. The third chapter (ḍūc徱-) of this book contains climbers and creepers (īܻ). Other than the Bengali word Jhīṅgā, there are more synonyms identified for this plant among which eight are in Sanskrit.
