He follows the path of Pi峁単ala and includes both the Vedic and classical metres in his text, which is missing in the work of his predecessor Jan膩艣raya. The 鈥淣ew Catalogus Catalogorum鈥� records three commentaries of Jayadevachandas. The commentators are Vardham膩na, 艢r墨candras奴ri and Har峁ta, son of Mukula Bha峁弓a.
The Jayadevachandas is divided into eight chapters named 补诲丑测腻测补 covering both the Vedic and classical metres. The text is exhibited in both 蝉奴迟谤补 and 办腻谤颈办腻 forms. Chapters 1-7 are presented in 蝉奴迟谤补 form, while chapter 8 is presented in 办腻谤颈办腻 form. There are 200 蝉奴迟谤补s and 12 办腻谤颈办腻s in this text. The first chapter explains the general introduction to Sanskrit prosody in 9 蝉奴迟谤补s, and the second and third chapters discuss Vedic metres in 6 and 33 蝉奴迟谤补s respectively.
