Source: Wisdom Library: Brihat Samhita by VarahamihiraJalacara (啶溹げ啶氞ぐ) refers to 鈥渃reatures in water鈥�, according to the B峁沨atsa峁僪it膩 (chapter 4), an encyclopedic Sanskrit work written by Var膩hamihira mainly focusing on the science of ancient Indian astronomy astronomy (Jyoti峁).鈥擜ccordingly, 鈥淚f the moon should pass to the south of Jye峁ａ弓ha (the 18th constellation), M奴la (the 19th constellation) and the two 膧峁Ｄ佱笉has (20th and 21st constellations) she destroys seeds, creatures in water and forests [i.e., 惫墨箩补-箩补濒补肠补谤补-办腻苍补苍补-丑腻]; and there will also be fear from fire. If the moon should pass to the south of Vi艣膩kh膩 (the 16th constellation) and Anur膩dh膩 (the 17th constellation) she will bring on evil. If she should pass through the middle of Magh膩 (the 10th constellation) or of Vi艣膩kh膩 (the 16th constellation) she will bring on prosperity鈥�.
Jyotisha (啶溹啶啶むた啶�, 箩测辞迟颈峁 or jyotish) refers to 鈥榓stronomy鈥� or 鈥淰edic astrology鈥� and represents the fifth of the six Vedangas (additional sciences to be studied along with the Vedas). Jyotisha concerns itself with the study and prediction of the movements of celestial bodies, in order to calculate the auspicious time for rituals and ceremonies.

Source: Wisdom Library: Tibetan BuddhismJalacara (啶溹げ啶氞ぐ) is the name of a deity summoned by the Yam膩ntaka-mantra and mentioned as attending the teachings in the 6th century Ma帽ju艣r墨m奴lakalpa: one of the largest Kriy膩 Tantras devoted to Ma帽ju艣r墨 (the Bodhisattva of wisdom) representing an encyclopedia of knowledge primarily concerned with ritualistic elements in Buddhism. The teachings in this text originate from Ma帽ju艣r墨 and were taught to and by Buddha 艢膩kyamuni in the presence of a large audience (including Jalacara).
Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha鈥檚 words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (惫补箩谤补测腻苍补) are collected indepently.
