: Google Books: The Crystal Mirror of Philosophical Systemsgrub mtha' (གྲུབ་མཐའ) (Tibetan; in Sanskrit: Գٲ) (lit. “Philosophical system) The term used most often by Tibetan Buddhists to designate both a school of thought and a system of religious practice. It is broader than the Sanskrit notion of a philosophical viewpoint (岹śԲ) but somewhat narrower than the modern notion of a “religion.

Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha’s words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (Բ) are collected indepently.
