Source: Wisdom Library: Brihat Samhita by Varahamihira顿颈苍补办峁泃 (啶︵た啶ㄠ啷冟い啷�) refers to the 鈥渟un鈥�, according to the B峁沨atsa峁僪it膩 (chapter 3), an encyclopedic Sanskrit work written by Var膩hamihira mainly focusing on the science of ancient Indian astronomy astronomy (Jyoti峁).鈥擜ccordingly, 鈥淚f the halo should be to the north of the sun there will be rain; if to the south there will be wind; if on both sides there will be fear from floods; if above the sun (towards the meridian) then the king, if below it (towards the horizon), then his subjects, will perish. If the sun [i.e., 诲颈苍补办峁泃] (腻诲颈迟测补) should be of blood colour when in mid-heaven, or if he should appear red by a dust storm the reigning prince will die鈥�.
