Kitti was made chief of the Kesadhatus and Sankhadhatu was made a Nagaragalla.
These honours won from them their allegiance to the king. They took an active part in Parakkamabahus campaign against Gajabahu (Cv.lxx.279, 284, 293, 301) and also in his wars waged for the unification of the country. Cv.lxxii.36, 162, 222, 272; lxxv.181.
Therav膩da is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
