Բdzٳٲ (दानवोत्त�) refers to the “great demon� and is used to describe Śambara, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.19 (“Kāma’s destruction by Śiva�).—Accordingly, as Śiva said to the Gods: “[...] Kṛṣṇa will beget Kāma in Rukmiṇ� when he goes to Dvārakā and begins to procreate children. His name will certainly be Pradyumna. The demon Śambara will abduct the boy at the time of his very birth. After abducting the boy, the great demon [i.e., Բdzٳٲ], Śambara, will throw him in the sea. The foolish fellow will take him for dead and will return to his city. [...]�.
