: What is India: Inscriptions of the 艢il膩h膩rasChittar膩jadeva is mentioned in the 鈥淎mbarn膩th temple inscription of M膩峁僾膩峁噄r膩ja鈥�. Chittar膩jad膿va does not mean 鈥榯he god of Chittar膩ja鈥�, but 鈥楰ing Chittar膩ja鈥�.
This inscription (mentioning Chittar膩jadeva) is engraved on a stone girder of the temple at Ambarn膩th, about 7.24 km. south-east of Kaly膩峁� in the 峁琱膩峁嚹� District. It is dated 艢aka 982, ninth tithi of the bright fortnight of 艢r膩va峁嘺. The object of the inscription seems to be that the temple of Ambarn膩th, which had been commenced by Mah膩ma峁囜笉ale艣vara Chittar膩jadeva was completed by some royal officers during the reign of M膩峁僾膩峁噄r膩ja.
