: MDPI Books: The Ocean of HeroesBhavabhadra (भवभद्र) (who has been said to be identical to Bhavabhaṭṭa—the author of the commentaries of the Catuṣpīṭha and Cakrasaṃvara) wrote an extensive Vivṛti commentary on the Vajraḍāka, which is mentioned in the 10th-century Ḍākārṇava-tantra: one of the last Tibetan Tantric scriptures belonging to the Buddhist Saṃvara tradition consisting of 51 chapters.—Whether Bhavabhadra and Bhavabhadra might be the same person or not, it is certain that Bhavabhadra is not after Gayādhara (the first half of the 11th century) because Bhavabhadra’s Vivṛti commentary on the Vajraḍāka was translated into Tibetan by Gayādhara Isaacson and Sferra analyzed Bhavabhaṭṭa (identical to Bhavabhadra) to have flourished “around 1000 CE (Isaacson and Sferra 2015 b, p. 477), and Szántó , in the “first half of the 10 th cent (Sz á nt ó 2015, p. 320).

Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha’s words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (Բ) are collected indepently.
