Atyagni (अतà¥à¤¯à¤—à¥à¤¨à¤¿) refers to “excessive digestionâ€�, as mentioned in verse 5.21-23 of the ´¡á¹£á¹­Äåá¹…g²¹³óá¹›d²¹²â²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒh¾±³ÙÄå (SÅ«trasthÄna) by ³ÕÄå²µ²ú³ó²¹á¹­a.—Accordingly, “[...] among the (different kinds of milk [viz., payas]), [...] wholesome for those stricken with excessive digestion [viz., atyagni] and insomnia, very heavy, (and) cooling (is) buffalo’s [viz., ³¾Äå³ó¾±á¹£a] milkâ€�.

Note: atyagni and ²¹²Ô¾±»å°ùÄå, which are used here as ²ú²¹³ó³Ü±¹°ùÄ«³ó¾± compounds (“stricken with excessive digestion and insomniaâ€�), have been rendered simply by ’ju drags (“excessive digestionâ€�) and gnid med “insomniaâ€�, with their possessive nature left unheeded.
