Source: Wisdom Library: Brihat Samhita by Varahamihira础谤耻峁嘺苍颈产丑补 (啶呧ぐ啷佮ぃ啶ㄠた啶�) refers to 鈥渢hat which resembles a red colour鈥�, according to the B峁沨atsa峁僪it膩 (chapter 11), an encyclopedic Sanskrit work written by Var膩hamihira mainly focusing on the science of ancient Indian astronomy astronomy (Jyoti峁).鈥擜ccordingly, 鈥淧adma Ketu is a comet white like the stem of the lotus. If it appears only for a night, there will be joy and happiness in the land for 7 years. 膧varta Ketu is a comet of red colour [i.e., 补谤耻峁嘺苍颈产丑补]; it appears in the west at mid-night with its tail pointing to the south and it is glossy. There will be happiness in the land for as many months as the number of k峁峁嘺s (four minutes) for which it continues to be visible鈥�.
