: De Gruyter: A Buddhist Ritual Manual on Agriculture膧濒颈办丑颈迟补惫测补 (啶嗋げ啶苦啶苦い啶掂啶�) refers to 鈥渢hat which must be depicted鈥�, according to the 2nd-century Meghas奴tra (鈥淐loud Sutra鈥�) in those passages which contain ritual instructions.鈥擜ccordingly, 鈥淗e who desires a mighty rain must perform this rite 鈥榯he great-cloud-circle鈥� in an open space, overspread by a blue canopy, shaded by a blue banner, on a clear spot of earth; [...] then the prophet of the Law, after having painted towards the four quarters with liquid cow-dung on a reed, in the eastern quarter three hastas high must depict (腻濒颈办丑颈迟补惫测补) the snake-king called Tri艣墨r峁ka, with cow-dung: in the southern quarter him called Pa帽ca艣墨r峁ka five hastas high; in the western, seven hastas high, Sapta艣墨r峁ka; in the northern, Nava艣墨r峁ka, nine hastas high.
