: Shodhganga: Vaisnava Agamas And Visnu Images础濒补辫补濒濒补惫补尘耻诲谤腻 (啶呧げ啶げ啷嵿げ啶掂ぎ啷佮う啷嵿ぐ啶�) or simply Alapallava refers to one of the various hand-poses (hastas or 尘耻诲谤腻蝉) defined in treatises such as the P膩帽car膩tra, P膩dmasa峁僪it膩 and Vaikh膩nasa-膩gamas, extensively dealing with the technical features of temple art, iconography and architecture in Vaishnavism.鈥擯allavamudr膩 resemble 膧d膩nahasta in which the palm and finger are slightly bent and the palm faces upward. If the finger are let loose, it appears to be 础濒补辫补濒濒补惫补尘耻诲谤腻. In the icon of Olayakunnam and of Palani, this [Pallavamudr膩] hand is used to hold the lotus.
