Akhilabudha (अखिलबु�) refers to “all the learned men�, according to the ś—one of the earliest preserved Sanskrit works on Perso-Arabic (Tājika) astrology authored by Samarasiṃha in the 13th century.—Accordingly, [the text opens with the three stanzas]: “Homage to that powerful something which all learned men (akhilabudha) call action [and which] spiritual men [call] unfathomable [but] certain and of most manifest result; homage, moreover, to those great ones who have set down the canons in which expert astrologers behold it as clearly as people [behold] their image in a spotless mirror! [...]�.
