󲹲ܰ (अच्छसुरा) refers to “clear spirits� and is mentioned in verse 3.12 of the ṣṭṅgṛdⲹṃh (Sūtrasthāna) by 岵ṭa.—Accordingly, “[...] Having thereupon bathed according to ritual—with the oil removed by an astringent�,rubbed (one’s body) with musk-charged saffron, (and) fumigated (oneself) with aloe-wood one shall (at last) turn to rich, broths, fat meat, rum, barm [viz., 󲹲ܰ], arrack, delicious products made of wheat, (rice-)flour, urd-beans, sugarcane, and milk, [...]�.

󲹲ܰ (~�-岹ȴ), lit. (“clear spirits�) is explained by Aruṇadatta and Indu as ܰ峾ṇḍ (“barm�), while the following ܰ (~), lit. “spirits�, is taken by Indu to mean liquor “made of grain� (辱ṣṭṛt), that is roughly, “arrack�.
